William Mason Accounts
To the left one can see one of many account ledgers included in this case. These are also essential to the evidence in showing whether or not the accounts match up and the children of Ann Heileman should get the property of their mothers. The one displayed appears near the end of the files and shows the finances records from 1851, but notes have been added to the end of the ledger. With these accounts and the notes at the end of the page made by presumably a clerk or lawyer in the case, as it explains the mother of this cased passed on October 15, 1855. The said property was given to William Mason where he requested a special report be made of the property. The ledger ending with a note after the reporting coming out he found remaining money after Mrs. Mason’s death and “added would be 11.38 which added to 236.90 will make the true amount due 248.28.” Meaning that in the end the ledger do prove that there is money that should be paid to the family, but perhaps not as much as should be claimed.
